To cover the open ends of the chassis' tubes, I've built caps out of Fimo. This is a modeling clay, which you can bake, and then it turns into something like plastic. Standard caps wouldn't have fit into the tubes, because of the inner diameter.

 

While the baked caps still looked a bit ugly, I've filed and sanded them to give them a cleaner look.

 

At the end, I glued them with silicone into the tubes.
